Our flagship routes

Four ways to experience the Suwannee.

Choose a popular overnight route or build a longer multi-day expedition around the river experience you want.

Our most popular overnight

White Springs to Outpost

22.5 milesApproximately 25–30 minutes

This float begins at the Outpost, where we shuttle you upriver to the public launch at Suwannee River Wayside Park in White Springs, Florida.

Woods Ferry River Camp is a useful halfway landmark and the reservation-based river camp option for this trip.

For primitive camping, we highly recommend purchasing one of our river maps for $3. The maps show public camping areas along the river.

Blue Sink Launch or Swift Creek can provide an early camping option about seven miles downriver for paddlers who want a shorter first day or want to stretch the trip into two nights. Additional primitive camping can be found near Woods Ferry River Camp.

Overnight option two

Outpost to Suwannee River State Park

20.5 milesApproximately 25–30 minutes

This trip launches directly from the Outpost and ends at the public launch at Suwannee River State Park, located on river left just above the confluence of the Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers.

Holton Creek River Camp is the reservation-based river camp option for this route and is located approximately eight miles downriver from the Outpost.

Primitive camping is available along the Holton Creek tract on river right. Depending on the campsite selected, paddlers may camp after approximately three to nine river miles.

This route can also be stretched into a two-night trip for guests who prefer shorter paddling days.

Our favorite two-night option

Cone Bridge to Outpost

Approximately 38 milesApproximately 45 minutes

Important portage notice

This trip requires an approximately 200-yard portage around Big Shoals for all Outpost rentals. The portage is also strongly recommended for guests using their own equipment.

This trip begins with a shuttle from the Outpost to Cone Bridge, with paddlers and rental vessels returning directly to the Outpost.

This pristine, wild, and scenic section of river passes through mostly untouched and undeveloped land.

Primitive camping is available until reaching Woods Ferry River Camp. We recommend spending the first night at Big Shoals State Park.

Camping at Big Shoals allows paddlers to set up camp, portage empty canoes around the shoals, and reload their equipment at the end of the portage the following morning.

The best week-long adventure

Outpost to Branford

Approximately 72.5 milesApproximately 1 hour

This five-to-seven-day expedition showcases undeveloped Suwannee River wilderness, tributaries, and natural springs.

The upper portion winds through remote Suwannee Basin scenery before gradually becoming a wider and broader river as additional spring water enters the system.

The locations below are recommended campsites and useful landmarks. Primitive campers are not required to stay at these exact locations.
